Adoption

Adopting, in addition to an act of love, is also a way to take animals that need a home off the streets. Most of the adopted animals become essential partners for human life, as they provoke feelings and instincts of empathy and compassion. Animals sold in stores are usually beautiful and lush but carry a load of feelings of greed and financial profit, in addition to the physical sacrifice of the matrices, forced to give birth countless times without adequate sanitary conditions. Pups are taken from their mothers as soon as they are weaned, or even earlier, and many become fearful and depressed. There are many lost or abandoned animals, which, if treated with due respect and affection, overcome difficulties and become true angels.

So if you want a friend for life, adopt an animal. Whether it's a puppy or an adult, it will be a personal gain and a gain for the community that will know that another one has left the streets, the cold, the rain and hunger, to a home where he can perform his real function, whether as guardian of a house, whether as a traveling companion, as Lucky Path was for its adopter.

How

Would you like to have a friend for life? Has one of the angels of the Path ever called you? That's how you get them home. See the step by step:

1. Do they have an ID (collar or chip)? If so, please contact the owner or us for help finding the owner.

2. Visit the animal and spend some time with it before deciding on adoption. Nobody likes to be returned (not even animals);

3. Analyze your personal conditions for adoption: does it fit in your house? Does it fit in your pocket? Does it fit in your heart? Are you willing to take care of him as long as he lives, even if he gets old and sick? If the answer to all these questions is YES... you have the profile of who can adopt;

4. Sign a Term of Commitment with the donor and keep your copy in a place where you can read it from time to time so you don't forget;

5. Vaccinate, deworm and sanitize the animal before taking it with you; Look for a veterinarian and make sure of the general health status of the animal to be adopted;

6. If traveling by car, don't forget to wear a seat belt; If the trip is by plane, inside or outside the country, check with the airport about the rules for this type of transport.

7. At home, reserve a protected and safe space for him to settle in and don't keep moving him around. Animals like routine; teach him your house rules. They learn fast. If not, call a specialist.

8. Inform the donor and, if possible, the Friends of Lucky Caminho about your experience. We want to share with other adopters.

9. Record your adventures with your new friend with photos and videos, remembering that they are not always exactly what we wanted. They have a personality and carry old traumas, which can motivate aggressive or fearful reactions (anxiety, insecurity and sadness).

10. This friendship is priceless. So don't buy animals....adopt!
